CLAUSE AND EFFECT HAMLET

CAUSE AND EFFECT HAMLET

Hello ladies and gents and welcome to another exciting edition of Chirag Lalwani's blog. Today, I'm going to talk about one of the causes in the story.

Claudius was jealous of his older brother at the throne of Denmark. As a result, he tried to murder his older brother and sucessfully did so, giving him a painful and suffering death. But, there were consequences.

One of the effects that happened after this was that Claudius got the throne. This was good for Claudius. He finally got the chair he so much craved for. You can find this in Act I Scene II Page IX
.

Another effect, and this time a negative one, is that Claudius becomes a wanted man. Hamlet finds out Claudius is the guilty man who killed his father. So just like all good movies, he is out for revenge. He makes Claudius his target and wants to kill him. This can be found in Act I Scene V Page XXVI.

Claudius also had one more positive to add after he became king. He got the beautiful Guthrude. He got "the lady." You can find this on Act I Scene II Page IX.

So that's all folks. Now if you have a Hamlet script of your own then great! GO and find out what I said and try to see if it's true. Don't worry, it is.

Response For Act 1, Scene 1 to Act 2, Scene 4

        1. How does the play make you feel at this point? Record your emotional response in a few sentences and then explore them for a few minutes, trying to figure out why you feel as you do.

At this stage of the story, I felt so bored and emotionally stressed, because I didn't like it. What a boring and ridiculous story with nothing entertaining enough for me. I was dissatisfied with what I was seeing. I was disappointed with how weak William Shakespeare's ability to capture the tone of an audience other than his normal kind was.

        2. In what situations have you felt similar to the characters? What persons, places, or ideas from your own experiences came to your mind while you were reading this portion of the play? Try to list at least three associations, but don't worry about trying to figure out why they came to mind.

       A. The first situation i felt myself in was me being in the Esther play in 7th grade. I had joined the club that school year and played the leading role of King Xerxes. It reminded of the scene when I was in my palace talking angrily and fiercely after being betrayed by my own courts men. I felt a bit weak, but powerful at the same time while at this stage of the play. Maybe because i was relating myself to my performance. This was me being in the situation of Hamlet.

      B. When Ophelia was badly treated and physically hurt by in Act 2, i also found myself being in another unwanted reminded situation. I felt like I was alone in a dark room with my hands tied behind my back. A white dirty cloth tied around my mouth and I, unable to speak. With one yellow dim light bulb turned on and nobody else in the room. I felt helpless and lonely. All hope gone that someone was going to rescue me. When I saw that scene, I felt damaged, destroyed, and tortured.

      C. Finally, the last situation I could compare myself to was when there was the ghosts scene in the movie. It reminded me of the days when I was young and still a boy. it reminded me of the days when I had believed ghosts existed , kind of. It made me feel in a rough situation where you know you're undefinable against something invincible. It's invincible, because you cannot do anything to it. You cannot stop it or even touch it, literally. All you can do is pray. Praying works, but when you're too scared, it's hard to remember to pray.

       3. What portions of Shakespeare's language attracts your attention? These might be individual words, phrases, lines, scenes, or images. Make note of whatever features draw your attention. Speculate for a few minutes about what you think they might mean.

I would like to wonder why they would the movie look so modern. They should try to show the past and the olden days. Then, why would everyone look like they live in 1990. Wearing waist high pants and modern day collared jackets and shirts. Things just didn't look right. that's what stood out for me and made me want to think about it more. Then, I thought to myself and answered my own question. Maybe because they are the royal family and most of the story at this point is being taken place in the palace where everyone is rich and gets the newest and latest clothes. Where everyone dresses a bit more fashionable and modern than their time because they are rich.

       4. Make note of any portion of the play, its language, or events that cause you problems. Note any questions that you might ask.

If I could meet Shakespeare I would ask him why use such a language. I mean, it's so confusing. Nobody really cares what you say. they care how good the story of the play is.

Spectator Sport: Hotel Room In Barcelona

I got this one from here.
I got this from here.
Now i'd write about Malaysia, but  there were too many monkeys there so i thought it would be a little too much to write about. Monkeys are so scary and hairy. I was not prepared to take the horror and write about big-hairy monkeys. I was just being immature and kidding. But seriously, let's get back on track and talk about the hotel room in Barcelona.  Let's begin, shall we? After an hour long trip by train from Monaco to Barcelona. The train was grey and looked like the inside of a small  plane. I was uninterested to look at the scenes outside. The windows were very big and it gave me a heart-breaking headache. It was heart-breaking because I got a headache on a vacation. So we went to the hotel and after two hours, well actually one hour, of waiting, on the green couch for the hotel to check us in. The staff were aggrandizing to me about how great the hotel was in Spanish. After getting the white hotel room card keys, we headed up by the see-through elevator. I could see the whole wide hotel from the see-through elevator. The hotel was spectacular on the inside. The whole room was white as the clouds on a sunny day. The bathroom had a see-through glass window and a nice bubbly sauna inside. that was pretty brazen. Spanish people must be unabashed. This satiated me from the long tired day. Despite all the good facilities, my nose just didn't like it. The aroma of the hotel was too strong. I had a hard time breathing. I kept moving my brown nose up and down trying to find air to breathe. I nearly died. No, just kidding, but that's what happened. The hotel room in Barcelona ruined my nose and ability to breathe properly for one week and my vacation was partially ruined. So, I recommend  you all not to travel and stay at this hotel. The name was ABAC Hotel. Don't worry guys, you'll be glad to know that there was no harm or damage done to the hotel room. Oh! and the nose was okay too. Bye!
